Défi Pourquoi Pas
March 27 - March 29

The “Why Not” challenge invites crews who love the sea and mountains to combine an offshore sailing crossing with the ascent of a famous peak on skis, every first weekend of April, serving as a bridge between the skiing season and the sailing season.
Origin: The challenge follows in the footsteps of Commander Charcot’s explorations. Originally created in 2011 by Rémy Gérin (and the crew of Faïaoahé), it was revived in 2023 by the crew of Belle Aventure.
2026 Challenge: The 8th “Défi Pourquoi Pas ” challenge combines:
- A crossing between Porquerolles and Ajaccio (sailing race organized by the Yacht Club de France, open to classic yachts over 50 feet and modern monohulls rated IRC over 40 feet)
- The ascent (700 m of positive elevation gain) and its descent on backcountry skis of Monte Renoso (2350 m) – under the responsibility of the crews (transfers and guides managed by the organization) –
- Moments of conviviality: crew meals, Corsican gastronomy contest prepared on board…
Several rankings will reward participants in the different events.
